The Organisation and its real estate portfolio
The client manages a large and diversified Belgian real estate portfolio.
Its buildings are used daily by operational teams, tenants and property managers who rely on accurate floor plans for leasing, maintenance and reporting purposes.
In this context, floor plans are not static documents. They support surface calculations, rental agreements and internal reporting. Any inconsistency introduced during migration could affect operational decisions.
Managing the transition between two IWMS environments
Over time, the portfolio had accumulated thousands of CAD files within the legacy IWMS.
The transition to ARCHIBUS required:
Preserving the structure of more than 3,000 floor plans.
Ensuring consistency of layers and spatial data.
Avoiding discrepancies in surface information.
Maintaining business continuity during the transition.
The complexity lay in scale rather than in individual drawings.
Structuring the migration process
AREMIS implemented a structured migration framework combining CAD automation with controlled validation.
Automation routines were used to accelerate conversion, while validation checkpoints ensured that spatial data remained consistent before and after integration.
Migration from Spacewell MyMCS to ARCHIBUS was conducted progressively, allowing operational teams to continue using the system throughout the transition.
Ensuring continuity for operational teams
3,000+ floor plans migrated.
Data integrity maintained throughout the process.
No disruption reported by operational users.
This project illustrates how scale can be managed methodically when governance and verification are integrated into the migration process.
